Established in 2017

After a brief musical hiatus and growing tired of the typical cover band scene, 3 seasoned musicians decided to embark on a new journey. They we're looking for something different than the standards, something fun, something high energy...
Inspired by a Green Day Show at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, PA an idea was sparked and thus began the Revolution!
Revolution Radio was born sometime in 2017.

Our Goal

Revolution Radio is dedicated to bringing you all the hits of Green day and more while staying true to the originals. Providing you with the closest Green Day experience possible and ensuring you are HAVING A BLAST during your night out!

Franny Joe
Vocals, Guitar & Megaphone

Fran, aka Franny Joe, started playing guitar at the age of 13 after falling in love with the music of Kiss. Later, when he heard Van Halen, his obsession with the guitar went to a whole new level….he’d spend hours in his room just woodshedding.  Never wanting to do anything but play guitar, he attended Combs College of Music where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in music performance. Fran spent many years on the local cover band scene playing lead guitar and singing backup vocals in bands such as Electric City, Madhouse, What About Bob? and Mix Tape. More recently, Fran channeled his inner Ace Frehley as a member of the tribute band Rock and Roll Over. He also appears on a monthly Podcast called the Kiss Room, where he is a member of the Kiss Room House Band.

Fran has stepped out of his comfort zone by taking on the role of lead singer for the first time in his music career…and he is loving every second of it!

*Fran has also recently completed a stint as St. Jimmy in The Landis Theater's rendition of American Idiot!

Jay Dirnt
Bass, Shouts, Grunts & Growls

Jason, aka Jay Dirnt, started playing bass at 13 years old. After a few years he gave up to pursue other "guilty pleasures" and played off & on for the next decade.
After graduating from the Art Institute of Philadelphia, Jason pursued music a bit more seriously, originals turned to covers and he ended up playing regularly from Scranton to the Jersey shore & everywhere in between. Eventually growing tired of that and getting burned out Jason took some time off to start a family and catch up on some much needed rest.
Wanting to get back to playing part time, but more importantly not wanting to play the same old cover band songs, the idea of Revolution Radio was born after a
few chats with his former guitar player Fran.
Jason brings years of cover band experience to this band from previous cover bands such as: Wired, Liquid Courage, DeJa Vu, Ignition, Formerly Known As (FKA), RoadHead & Mix Tape to name a few.

Tre Cardone
Drums

Vic aka Tre Cardone, began saturating his life in music at the age of three, his true musical introduction to the area came when he was 21. The band was Crosstalk, playing top venues under well-known management, their music was also heard through local radio stations.

He later began focusing on cover material and has been in the cover scene ever since, playing in bands such as The Buzzmonks, The Geeks/The McFlys, The Bandcampers, Ignition, Mix Tape and many others.

Also growing tired of playing the same old cover band songs in a dying scene Vic wanted something different and also being a fan of Green Day was quick to jump on board when approached by Jason & Fran, aside from the fact that Vic is a music whore!

Dennis Drass
Guitar & Background Vocals

Dennis, a Philly/Delco native, started playing guitar at age 17 but didn’t join his first band until he was 20. He spent most of the 90’s in local original band Stone’s Throw, who should have been famous, dammit!!!! After Stone’s Throw disbanded, he switched to bass and joined another local band, Dead On. He also played bass in local punk band The Pulls. Thanks to that gig, he met his future wife!

Dennis currently plays bass and sings for Delco/South Jersey cover bands Steampunk Willy and Hyperdrive, and is thrilled to join the revolution and put on the 6-string again to be part of the area’s premier Green Day Tribute act.
